Is Mount Academy accredited?
Mount Academy is recognized by the Provincial Government of Prince Edward Island and follows the provincial programs of studies, authorized materials, and curriculum frameworks.

What is Prince Edward Island like?
With its all-natural harbours, pastoral landscape, sandy beaches, ocean coves and the famous red soil, Prince Edward Island has a reputation as a province of outstanding natural beauty. Populated by small, rural communities as well as the towns and villages, the Island has become popular as an international tourist destination for relaxation.
How is Mount Academy different from other preparatory and athletic academies?
We strive to do better and to be different, each and every day. In one of Canada's safest and most beautiful provinces, we've built our program to incorporate the best practices and offerings from top schools around the world.

Is there a school uniform or dress code?
The Mount currently has both a dress code and a uniform.

Academic FAQ

Why are grades combined in a classroom?
In a project-based environment, combining grades provides opportunities for students at different level to learn from each other. Junior students are able to observe and learn from our senior students, and our senior students gain leadership experience in project-based groups.
Do you offer a French Immersion program?
Yes, Mount French Immersion Program allows Junior high students  to take one year-long French Immersion language course. We currently only accommodate students in Early French Immersion.  Our High-School French Immersion Program is modeled after the Provincial Public High School requirements of one (1) French Language and one (1) Social Studies per academic year, for a total of eight (8) French Language courses from grades 9-12. All French Immersion students are encouraged to write the DELF Certification exam upon graduation.  
Do you offer the IB Program?
We do not offer the IB Program but we are structured much like it. Mount student's must take courses from eight (8) groups covering basic the elements of English, math, science and social studies as well as complimentary courses from the fitness, languages, elective and exploratory groups. Students also participate in a community service learning experience each week throughout the year.

Athletic FAQ

Do you have to be an elite athlete to attend Mount Academy?
No, you don't have to be a competitive athlete but you do have to be a committed one or a student who wants to lead an active lifestyle. We welcome students of all abilities and we encourage students to bring a positive attitude and perseverance.
Are the sports programs tailored for each student?
Yes, every student at the Mount has a personal plan with their specific set of goals and objectives. Within the program and team collectives, individual training programs are tailored to ensure students are reaching their maximum potential. Individual programs are also possible where group programs are not available.
What other schools and teams do athletes play against?
Mount athletes have plentiful opportunities to play against local, regional, and international schools and teams throughout the school year.

Do students need to provide their own athletic equipment?
